Google Review Link Generator + QR Code

This Google review link generator turns a Maps URL or Place ID into a review link, a Google review QR code, and a counter card you can print. Ask every customer for an honest review.

Paste a Maps link, a maps.app.goo.gl share link, or a Place ID that starts with ChIJ.

Used on the counter card and in the message templates.

Review link

Paste a link or Place ID to build the review link, QR code, and counter card. This page does not use a Google API key.

Ask every customer

Copy one message and send that same link to everyone. These templates do not split happy and unhappy customers, and they do not offer a discount or gift.

Add a Place ID to fill the link into the message.

Send the same request to every customer. Do not offer a discount, gift, or other reward for a review, and do not ask only the people who say they were happy. Google's review policy prohibits compensation for reviews. The FTC rule on fake reviews (16 CFR Part 465) also bans buying reviews and other deceptive review practices.

How to use

  1. Paste a Google Maps URL, a share link, or a Place ID. Add the business name if you want it on the card and in the messages.
  2. Copy the review link when the Place ID is found. If you pasted a short link such as maps.app.goo.gl, open Google's Place ID Finder, search the business, and paste the ID that starts with ChIJ.
  3. Download the QR code as a PNG or SVG, or print the counter card and fold it into a table tent.
  4. Copy the text or email in English, Spanish, Thai, or Vietnamese. Send that same link to every customer.

How it works

The review link is https://search.google.com/local/writereview?placeid= plus the Place ID. The short link on this site, /r/ followed by the Place ID, redirects there with a 302 and a noindex header. The QR code encodes the Google review link, so a scan opens Google even if this site is not involved. Nothing is sent to the Google Places API, and no API key is used.

Example. Place ID ChIJN1t_tDeuEmsRUsoyG83frY4 becomes https://search.google.com/local/writereview?placeid=ChIJN1t_tDeuEmsRUsoyG83frY4. The short link is https://gettools.app/r/ChIJN1t_tDeuEmsRUsoyG83frY4.

How to get more Google reviews

Ask every customer. One request, the same link, whether the job felt easy or hard. Skipping the unhappy customers is review gating, and it hides the feedback you most need.

Ask while the visit is fresh. A sentence at the counter, a text the same day, or a line in the receipt email beats a message a month later.

Put the QR code where people already pause: the front desk, the table, the invoice, the door of the work van. Print the counter card on this page, choose Save as PDF, and fold it so it stands up.

Reply to the reviews you get. A short public reply shows the next customer that a person is reading.

Do not gate reviews and do not pay for them. A happy-or-unhappy split, and a discount or gift for a review, can violate Google's review policy and the FTC rule on fake reviews, 16 CFR Part 465.

The generator above works for any Place ID. These short guides cover where to put the QR code and when to ask.

Frequently asked questions

How does a Google review link generator work?

A Google review link generator turns a Place ID into a URL that opens Google's review form for that business. Paste a Maps URL that already contains the Place ID, or paste the ID itself (it starts with ChIJ). This page builds https://search.google.com/local/writereview?placeid=PLACE_ID in your browser. It does not call the Google Places API and it does not need an API key.

How do I create a Google review QR code?

Generate the review link, then download the QR code as a PNG or SVG, or print the counter card. The code stores the Google review link. When a customer scans it, Google opens the write-a-review page for your Place ID. You can put the PNG on a receipt, a window cling, or an email signature.

How do I get more Google reviews?

Ask every customer, ask soon after the job, and make the link easy to open. A QR code on the counter and a short text the same day both work. Reply to the reviews you receive. Use the same link for everyone. Do not offer a discount or gift for a review, and do not send only happy customers to Google.

How do I find a Google Place ID from a Maps link?

Look for place_id=, query_place_id=, or a value that starts with ChIJ. Many share links, including maps.app.goo.gl, do not include it. Open Google's free Place ID Finder at https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/places/web-service/place-id, search the business name, and copy the Place ID. You do not need a Google Cloud API key for that page.

Is it allowed to offer a discount for a Google review?

No. Ask for an honest review and do not tie a discount, gift, or other reward to it. Google's contribution policy (https://support.google.com/contributionpolicy/answer/7400114) prohibits compensation for reviews. The FTC rule on fake reviews, 16 CFR Part 465, also bans buying reviews and other deceptive review practices, including asking only the customers who say they are happy.

What is the short review link?

This page also shows a short link, https://gettools.app/r/ followed by the Place ID. Opening it sends a 302 redirect to the Google review form. The QR code uses the full Google link so a scan still works if someone saves the image. The short link is marked noindex so it does not compete with your own site in search.
